Services for Clifford George Alfred, Sr., 87, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. F. D. Cochran will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Alfred passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his home. He was born November 2, 1935 in the Leader Community, near Stonewall, Oklahoma. He was the eldest son of the late Pearl Ella (Cochran) Alfred and Henry Simon Alfred.
Clifford attended school in the Lula area and united with Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at an early age. He was a farm hand for Pete Parks and a forklift operator at the Henry Quitman Company.
In his free time, he enjoyed mechanic work with his brothers and taking long scenic routes with his family on country roads to visit relatives. He loved nature and always wanted to be outside. He would often enjoy sitting at the lake to watch the water waves and ducks. Even when he was at home, you would find him with a cup of coffee staring out the window, announcing who was pulling up in the driveway.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Virginia (Hatley) Alfred; three children, Marlene (Alfred) Beshear, Antoinette (Alfred) Nash and Clifford Alfred, Jr.; his grandchildren, Randy S. Beshear, Adam Nash and Giselle Beshear; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other dear and loved relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Margaret Lou Alfred, Faye Nelson, Louie Melvin, Alene Alfred, Windell W. Alfred, Kenneth Alfred and Fred H. Alfred.
