Lucijean (Underhill) Mason

The family of Lucijean Underhill Mason, 68, of Ada, will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 1st at Criswell Funeral Home.

Ms. Mason died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born October 11, 1945 in Ada to Floyd Keith and Jean Sampson Underhill. She attended Ada schools and graduated from Ada High School in 1964. She graduated from Central State University in 1970 earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and sociology. She earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work in 1976 from the University of Oklahoma.

Ms. Mason was a Counselor with the Office of Juvenile Affairs, retiring after 27 years of service. She was in private practice from 1996 until 2013.

Survivors include a daughter, Tamijean Willett Horton and her husband Ricky of Ada; a son, Charles (Chuck) W. Willett, III of Ada; four grandchildren, Chase Norman, Ada, Ryan Vick, Ada, Tara Horton, Ada and Nicole Willett, Ada; two step-grandchildren, Coty Horton and Rikki Bottoms, both of Ada; her siblings, Suzanne Clemons and husband Dan, Ada, Keith Underhill, M. D. and wife Terri, Edmond and Kevin Ledford and wife Debbie, Arkansas City, KS; four nieces; three nephews; eight great-nieces; and eight great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Sampson Marcum.
