Irene Helen (Myers) Daleo
Feb. 7, 1924 - Aug. 22, 2006
Irene Helen Daleo was born on February 7, 1924 in Ada, Oklahoma to Tom and Lena Myers. She passed away peacefully on August 22, 2006 with her family by her side.

Even though Irene loved growing up on the farm with her six older brothers and sister in Oklahoma, she left home as a teenager and moved to Los Angeles to experience what life outside of the Oklahoma farm had to offer.

While enjoying the excitement of LA in the 1940s she met and married her husband, Mike Daleo. The scrap metal business brought Mike and Irene to Bakersfield in 1950, and she has lived here since, enjoying life with her family and friends. Slke also made many friends at Brock's Department Store, where she worked for many years.

Irene enjoyed spending her time bowling, visiting her extended family in Oklahoma during the summer, gambling in Las Vegas, relaxing at the beach, and being with her family.

Irene' pride and joy in life has always been her three loving daughters, Darlene Lacey and her husband, Tim of Charlton, MA; Debbie Whitlock and her husband, Rich of Bakersfield; and Kay Daleo, of Bakersfield. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Karron Lacey and her husband, Tom Grossman; Audra Lacey; Lori Yurkanin and her husband, Josh; Lisa Whitlock; Joe Estrada, and his fiancZe, Shay Metzger; Jennifer Estrada; and Michael Estrada. Further, she is survived by her great grandchildren; Amanda Hazlett, Joshua Taylor, Darrah Ann Taylor, and Ethan Estrada.

Her parents, siblings, and her husband, Mike, preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road.

Irene will be greatly missed, as well as her beautiful smile.
