Betty Marion (Embry) Jones, 88, died June 6, 2024, at Mercy Hospital, Ada, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Midland Cemetery with Pastor Richard Atzbach officiating.

She was born November 21, 1935, at Maxwell, Oklahoma, to Webb and Johnie Faye Brecheen Embry. She attended Asher Public Schools and made her home in Galey, Stratford, Oklahoma, and later, Ada.

She married her best friend and love of her life, Donald Lee Jones, February 18, 1956. Thus started a lifetime of adventures that took them on frequent road trips to visit family and flea markets or simply just to enjoy one another’s company.

Betty’s world expanded once she and Don welcomed their three children. She spent her days caring for them, and even years later, once they were grown, she reflected on the joy it brought her to be their mother.

She loved her children and grandchildren deeply, never missing a chance to share just how much they meant to her.

She never met a stranger, and if you were lucky enough to be the subject of her attention, you saw just how much she adored life and the many blessings she received.

For years, she loved growing and tending to a beautiful host of flowers, cooking meals for her family, including her famous chicken and dumplings and Thanksgiving dressing, and particularly found fulfillment in the art of wheeling and dealing. While Don would fix up any items they bought, she was the one to strike a good bargain on them with her natural ability to conversate.

She cherished her relationship with Jesus, and any chance she got to share her love for Him, she did so joyfully. It wasn’t uncommon to call her and hear TBN on in the background or for her to take a moment to answer because she’d been listening to her music and dancing around her house.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents; and siblings, Jerry Embry, Margaret Frankovich, and John Carroll Embry.

She is survived by her children, Lesa Hanan (Roy Don), Ron Jones (Dee Ann), Joe Don Jones (LeAnn) LeRoy; brother, Jack Embry (Barbara); six grandchildren, Heather, Jacob, Caleb, Tyrel, Mallory (Cody), and Lacey (Dustin); and two great-grandchildren, Larissa and Ian.

Her presence and infectious energy will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
