Services for John Wesley Turner, 94, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Joe Dixon will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Turner passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at a local hospital. He was born December 26, 1921 at Centrahoma, Oklahoma to Norvel Perry and Fannie Boland Turner and attended schools at Center, Lightning Ridge, Wilson, Vanoss and Latta.

He married Lorene Berniece Richardson February 7, 1942 in Ada. She preceded him in death August 23, 2009 in Ada. Mr. Turner retired from Ideal (Holcim) Cement Plant after 39 years of service. He was a member of Oak Avenue Baptist Church and had served in the U. S. Army with the 67th Evac Hospital from August 19, 1942 to August 11, 1945. He served in battles in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland Ardennes and Central Europe.

Survivors include his son, John Turner, Jr. and his wife Glenda of Ada; three daughters, Jean Crockett and her husband Ben of Ripley, Christine Frantz and her husband Mike of Boerne, TX and Lorene Perkins and her husband Ed of Atwood; his grandchildren, Carol Crockett Briegge and husband Clay of Perry, Alan Crockett and wife Jennifer of Ardmore, Mark Crockett and wife Karen of Denton, TX, Amy Frantz Lambert and husband Devon of Floresville, TX, Melissa Frantz of Boerne, TX, Rebekah Perkins Ulm and husband Spencer of Norman and Edmon Perkins of Mt. Rainier, MD; his great grandchildren, Austin Allen, Katlyn and Ashlyn Briegge; Coleton, Kaylyn and Tanner Crockett; Caleb, Maggie and Creed Crockett; his siblings, Bill Turner, Norvel Turner, Doil Turner and wife Evelyn, and Jessie Mae Turner Robertson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Berniece Turner; and siblings, George Turner and Novella Turner Gibson.

Bearers will be Mark Crockett, Alan Crockett, Spencer Ulm, Coleton Crockett, Austin Allen and Devon Lambert.
