Services for L.B. Rue, 84, Ada, are 11 a.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Bud Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard at the cemetery.
Mr. Rue died Friday, June 15, 2012, at his home. He was born March 8, 1928, to R.Q. and Bonnie Lee Ray Rue at Wilson. He graduated from McLish High School and served in United States Army 171st Field Artillery Battalion of the 45th Infantry in Korea. He was awarded the Army Occupation Medal in Japan, the Korean Service Medal with the Bronze Star and a United Nations Service Medal. Mr. Rue retired as a machinist after 38 years of employment with Kerr Machine. He was a member of Central Church of Christ.
He and Otherine Dulin were married Dec. 26, 1953, in Ada.
Survivors include his wife, Otherine, of the home; a daughter, Gae Vonne Martin, Ada; two sons, Rudy Rue, Ada, and Stacey Rue and wife Andrea, Ada; six grandchildren, Todd Martin and wife Megan, Ada, Drue Martin and wife Bambi, Ada, Jessica Rue, Jordan Huggins, Ada, Rance Rue, Wynnewood, and Peyton Huggins, Ada; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Martin, Ada; and a brother-in-law, George Howry, Ada.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Fern Howry, and his brother, Herbert Rue.
Bearers are Todd Martin, Drue Martin, Jordan Huggins, Rance Rue, Peyton Huggins and Jeff Branscum. Honorary bearers are Wib Scroggins, David Scroggins, J.D. Branscum, John Kerr, Kerry Kerr and Kelly Kerr, faithful visitors Don Butler and Doug Stewart and members of the 171st Field Artillery Battalion of 45th Infantry Division.
