Memorial services for Shirley Faye Roberson, 79, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (6/18) at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Her brother-in-law Pastor Bill Roberson of Full Gospel Church in Atoka, Oklahoma will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Shirley went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2025, while in her lifelong home surrounded by her family. She was born April 6, 1946, to Robert and Bernice (Brown) Frazier in Atoka, Oklahoma.

As a child, Shirley loved growing up in Atoka, Oklahoma. She particularly enjoyed participating in school plays and visiting her grandparents “Mama” and “Pa” on their farm. She was baptized at First Christian Church in Atoka, Oklahoma, where her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ led her to become an active leader in the children’s ministry. She also took great pride in being head cheerleader while attending Atoka High School.

The Lord joined Shirley to her husband S.L. Roberson together in marriage on August 31, 1963. When she grew in her faith during her marriage, she soon epitomized the woman described in Proverbs 31 by being an excellent wife to her husband; Shirley was more precious than jewels.

Her husband trusted her by taking her by his side to operate Roberson Diesel Fuel Injection & Turbo on West Main Street in Ada, Oklahoma for many years. However, her primary focus during her life was looking well to the ways of her household.

Shirley loved cooking, sewing, reading, and gardening to build up her household as a place of love, beauty, and security in the Lord. She definitely never ate the bread of idleness. She also enjoyed listening to her music records and would perform the occasional dance.

But, more importantly, she was always there to teach wisdom and kindness to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as a loving mom and nana. That love overflowed and spread to her numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and anyone else who entered her home. She perfected the art of hospitality by creating a home where everyone was loved and welcomed.

Shirley was survived by her husband, S.L. Roberson of Ada, Oklahoma; son Greg Roberson and his wife Carisa of Ada, Oklahoma; son Aaron Roberson and his wife Catherine of Ada, Oklahoma; daughter Michelle Roberson of Ada, Oklahoma; brother Carl Tomlinson of Fort Worth, Texas; sister Marsha Mize of Illinois; sister Mary Frazier of Atoka, Oklahoma; sister Sally Crites of Atoka, Oklahoma; sister Carol Frazier of Atoka, Oklahoma; sister Bobbi Jo Glover of Atoka, Oklahoma; along with 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bernice (Brown) Frazier; brother Norman Frazier; and brother Richard Frazier.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed; and her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all’” (Proverbs 31:28-29).

Shirley’s faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was demonstrated by her works that serve as an example of what it means to surpass the excellence described in Proverbs 31. That faith will be passed down – not just for her children and grandchildren – but for future generations to come.
