Ann (Moore) McBroom

Services for Ann Moore McBroom, 89, of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Harold Ware and Mr. Mick Cowan will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. McBroom died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Norman Regional Hospital. She was born January 23, 1926 at Durant to Henry Simpson and Gladys Roling Moore. She and her family moved to Ada from Durant in 1928. She attended Hayes Elementary and graduated from Ada High School. She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha and graduated from East Central University in Ada.

She married Craig McBroom August 29, 1946 in Ada. He preceded her in death March 9, 2003. Mrs. McBroom was an elementary teacher for Ada Public Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1984. She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church for 50 years, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the choir. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ada for the last 39 years.

Survivors include her children, Gary McBroom and his wife Ronda of Carrollton, TX, Larry McBroom and his wife Julie of Arlington, TX and Patty (McBroom) Harrison and her husband Pat of Ada; her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, Kelly (McBroom) and Adam Alexander of Little Elm, TX and their daughters Maddie and Emma, Tracy (McBroom) and Kevin Truett of Ada and their daughter Rylynn, Kasey Harrison of Norman and his daughters Grace and Emilie, Kyle and Blaire Harrison of Newcastle and their sons Kase and Reid, Josh and Amanda McBroom of Seattle, WA and their son Jaxson, Sean McBroom of Moore, Justin Suess of Chicago and Shara McBroom of Ft. Worth.

Bearers will be her grandsons.

If desired, to honor Ann’s love of education, memorials may be made to Ada City Schools Foundation, P. O. Box 1363, Ada, OK 74821 for Classroom education. Or to honor Ann’s life as a football coach’s wife, memorials may be made in the name of Craig and Ann McBroom to the FCA Office, 3809 S. Boulevard, Edmond, OK 73013 to sponsor a coach and his wife to attend FCA camp to study how to honor God through coaching.
