Arch B. "Archie" Hill

Services for Arch B. “Archie” Hill, 90, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Randall Christy will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Hill passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at his home. He was born August 18, 1927 at Birmingham, AL to Arch B. and Hattie Smith Hill. He graduated from high school and attended the University of Oklahoma.

He married Mary Lou Hayes April 12, 2016. Mr. Hill had worked in the oilfield industry for Western, Halliburton and Dresser Oil Companies, retiring after 30 years of service. He later owned an auto dealership in Ada, Marietta and Enid and also a restaurant. Mr. Hill was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church and had served in the U. S. Army in Guam from 1946 – 1947.

Mr. Hill loved to play golf, hunt, fish and he had been a Scout Leader. He loved to cook at event for the church, fund raisers or for widows at Sisters-Hand-in-Hand.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Hayes Hill, of the home; his brother, Eugene Hill of Ardmore; one sister, Loretta Johnson, Amarillo, TX; three step-daughters, Desta Karschnik, Ada, Flo Dunne and Doris Kinder, both of Shawnee; and two step-sons, John Hayes and Robert Hayes, both of Ada.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jo Shelton Hill; his second wife, Edna Pitts Hill; and a son, Archie B. Tucker Hill.

Bearers will be Robert Hayes, John Hayes, Tom Chaffin, Jerry Duncan, Lowell Jones, Tom Clemens, Steve Vandegrift and Mike Russell.
