Services for Lurtie Marie Deskin, 95, of Muskogee, formerly of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Ruth Deskin will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Deskin died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at a Tulsa hospital. She was born March 24, 1922 in Pushmataha County to Bird Dine and Maudie Larie McCullar Smith.

She married Gene Deskin in 1942. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2002. Mrs. Deskin was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Beth Welch of Muskogee; one son, Doyle Deskin and wife Ruth of Jack Fork; one granddaughter, Keli Wilbourn and husband Matt of Ft. Gibson; one great-granddaughter, Audrey Gilliam of Ft. Gibson; two great-grandsons, Nolan and Maddux Wilbourn of Dallax, TX, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; parents, Bird and Maudie Smith; five brothers, and one sister.

Bearers will be J. D. Smith, Bill Hicks, Carl Smith, Jeremy Smith, Roger Stidham and Matt Wilbourn. Honorary bearers will be Jonathan Smith, John Doyle Purdom and John Michael.
