Love, best describes Karen Hallmark. Karen was the most loving person. When she loved, she loved with all her heart. She knew better than anyone that to love others, requires action. She taught us that love is demonstrated in many ways. Just a few to mention: a phone call, a hug and kiss, a home cooked meal using family recipes, prayer, instead of making time for your family we should always spend time with family and have to make time for other things, celebrate holidays, special occasions, and that love doesn’t have an expiration date as it endures the ups and downs, and more. She always put everyone else’s needs before her own. She has taken many family members, youth and others into her home and cared for them as if they were her own. She had a true servant’s heart. Loving and serving others was an unconscious act for her. She made it look so easy, even if it wasn’t. If she knew of someone in need, and she had something that would benefit someone else, she would go out of her way to make sure she helped them. Karen was a Christian and had a close relationship with God, and loved Jesus with all her heart. Heaven certainly gained another angel. Mom, we are so thankful for how hard you worked raising your four children. She was a true example that with perseverance, resilience, and toughness, you can make it through anything. Thank you for the example you set for everyone.
Karen dearly loved her brothers, her children and grandchildren, friends, and family. Last but certainly not least, she loved Mike Hoppe beyond measure. He was the love of her life.
Survivors include her significant other, Mike Hoppe, of the home; three sons, Larry Dane Bess II and wife Kristen, Ada, Josh Bess and wife Kassie, Roff, and Michael Bess, Ada; eleven grandchildren, Braydan, Gracie, Cash, Brianna, Jayli, Ellie, Trinity, Ethan, Ryker, Lanie and Jamie; two brothers, Glen Hallmark, Fittstown, and Ernie Hallmark and wife Alice, Jesse; and other loving relatives and friends.
