Services for John Elwood “John Boy” McConnell, 76, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 7th at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Randy Golden will officiate. Burial will follow at Denney Cemetery.

Mr. McConnell passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born August 12, 1940 at Dover, New Jersey to Russell John and Theresa Mae Sherrod McConnell.

He married Sharon June Walker April 7, 1976 at Long Beach, CA. Mr. McConnell was a self-employed carpet layer, owning “Stay Down Carpet Service” until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of the home; a daughter, Dawn Leah McConnell Edwards and her husband Justin of Ada; a step-daughter, Staci Steele McConnell of Ada; three grandchildren, Chelsi Nicole Gould, Tyson Blake Gould and Caleb Skyler Gould; three step-grandchildren, Cody Andrew McConnell, Tim Wayne Miller and Shawna Marie Miller; a great-grandchild, Bentley Cole Ramsey; a sister, Dawn Leoffler; and three brothers, Russell (Chubby) McConnell, Bruce McConnell and Bradd McConnell.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger McConnell and Kenny McConnell.

Bearers will be Jackie Walker, Tyson Gould, Caleb Gould, James “Bubba” Anglin, Justin Edwards and Shawna Miller.
