Services for Bessie Jewel Coplen, 91, of Sulphur are 10:00 am. Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dan Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Coplen passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at her daughter’s residence in Ada. She was born March 24, 1931 in Mill Creek, OK to James Virgil and Vera Bertie Quinton Garrison. Mrs. Coplen was a cook in nursing homes until her retirement.

Survivors include a daughter, Tawana Sweet and husband Bobby Sweet of Ada; daughter-in-law, Paula Coplen of Ada; brother, Troy Garrison of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Raymond Townsend, Eric Townsend, Starla Tate, Kara Coplen and Jesse Coplen; her great-grandchildren, Lamya Eddy, Aubrianna Coplen, Justin Tate, Cory Tate, Tyler Tate, James Townsend, Demetrie Walker, and Nino Walker; and a great-great-grandson, Jackson Townsend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roy Coplen; three brothers; four sisters; and a great-grandson, Josh Kelley.

Bearers will be Richard Larney, Justin Tate, Eric Townsend, James Townsend, Jesse Coplen and Raymond Townsend.
