Brenda (Ketchum) Cordell joined her parents and sisters, Donna and Phyllis, in heaven on August 30, 2021. The family will greet friends prior to the service between 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Ulan Cemetery Pavilion at Ulan Cemetery officiated by Mr. Randy Tidmore. Burial will follow. Pallbearers will be Charles Tripp, Jonathan Stewart, Kennon Sistrunk, Kendall Casey, Danny Pierce, and Ledgen Pierce. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Perry. Brenda was born to Virgil O. and Nadine (Crawley) Ketchum on October 9, 1952 in McAlester. She was welcomed home by five sisters - Loretta, Vondell, Janice, Phyllis, and Donna. They grew up in a home that knew the value of hard work. She was a hard worker, had a great sense of humor, and treated everyone hospitably whether they deserved it or not. As a child, she and Donna were partners in crime which continued into adulthood until Donna's passing. She welcomed four blond haired, sassy energetic girls and spent much time fishing and camping. With her first grandchild, she earned the name "Nano," a name she cherished and would readily answer no matter the age of the person calling her that. She loved to bake and share her treats with others. She was also known to add a little extra chocolate to her grandchildren's milk without the parents' knowledge-"shhh…don’t tell!" In her later years, she spent her time herding cows. She could frequently be seen on Choate Prairie Road doing just that. She leaves behind her daughters: Tammy Pierce, Angelia Casey and husband, Greg, Jennifer Wimberly and husband, Dale Deanna Stewart and husband, Johnathon; brother-in-law: Jerry Perry; sisters: Vondell, Loretta, and Janice; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
