Leslie June Truly, 54, of McAlester, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of her family. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the Bishop Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Loy Durbin officiating. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery in Tannehill, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Jared McLemore, Jay McLemore, Jeff Belote, Ty McLemore, Colton Ross, and Joe Watts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dillon Reid, Dan Prause, Jimmy Painter, and Jordan James. Leslie June Truly was born on January 26, 1972, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Carol (Manning). She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Sociology from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. Leslie dedicated many years of her life to the legal field, working as a paralegal and private investigator for more than 25 years. Her career took her to Colorado, where she worked as a paralegal before later moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and eventually returning to the McAlester area to work in Jeff Belote law office. In addition to her legal career, Leslie was passionate about sharing her knowledge with others and spent approximately 14 years teaching paralegal and litigation studies at McAlester Kiamichi Technology Center, helping guide and inspire future professionals. Leslie married the love of her life, James Allen "Jay" Truly, on February 18, 1995, in Bugtussle, Oklahoma, and together they built a life centered around family and hard work. Outside of her career, Leslie found joy in the simple things she loved most. She cherished every moment with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs and watching shows like Ghost Adventures. She had a fascination with the mysterious and loved learning about haunted castles, historic homes, and spooky adventures. Above all else, Leslie was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother who worked hard and deeply cherished her family. The time she spent with those she loved meant the most to her. Leslie is survived by her parents, Carol Painter and Jimmy of Tannehill; her sons, James Truly "Nick" and wife, Traci, of Durant, Justin "Jay" McLemore and wife, Stacy, of Hartshorne, and Jared McLemore of McAlester; her beloved grandchildren, Ty McLemore, Skye McLemore, and Riley McLemore; her sisters, Rebecca Cope of Norman, Lena Ashworth and husband, Trey, of Oklahoma City, and Jaidi Painter and fiance, Bryson Hale, of McAlester; her nephews, Joesef Cope and Andrew Cope, both of Norman; her niece, Madison Nester and husband, Josh, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; special friends, Amy Martin and Jeff Belote; along with many other cherished family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen "Jay" Truly, and her maternal grandparents, Bette Ardrey and Elmer Manning. Leslie will be remembered for her resilience, strength, dedication, love, and loyalty for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
