Jack Wayne Lewis Sr., of Tannehill, Oklahoma separated this world at the age of 82 years on Friday, September 19, 2025 with his loving wife, daughter, and family by his side. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Louis R. Reynolds officiating. The burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery, McAlester, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Joe Stacey, Clay Bell, Ryan Stacey, and Justin West. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Wayne Lewis, Jr. Jack was born on March 27, 1943 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was the beloved son of Jack Wilson Lewis and Ruby Lewis. Jack had a very competitive spirit in his youth, excelling in sports such as track, boxing, swimming, and football. He married the love of his life, Carolyn, in Wagoner, Oklahoma, on June 3, 1970. The couple lived in Muskogee, Oklahoma, before eventually settling in McAlester to be closer to their children. Jack dedicated 38 years of hard work to Owens Illinois (formerly Brockway Glass), retiring on May 5, 2000. A proud United States Marine, Jack served honorably from January 10, 1968, to July 23, 1969. His military service was cut short due to injuries sustained in action, leading to a lifelong disability. For his bravery and sacrifice, he was awarded several medals, including the Purple Heart. One of Jack's greatest joys in life was taking drives with his beloved wife and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and his memories will carry in our hearts. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Wilson Lewis and Ruby Lewis; a sister, Sharon Johnson. Jack is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Lewis; his daughter, Kasi and son-in-law, Joe Stacey; grandchildren: Justin West and Paden Stacey; great-grandchild, Zaylee West, and his son, Jack Wayne Lewis, Jr; along with other family members and friends.
