Donna Jean (Kelley) Kindred, 76 of McAlester, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025 at her home. The family will greet friends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025 Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Mike Perry. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Joseph Kerns, Keegan Morris, Jimmy Davis, John Perry, Nathan Harrington and Aaron Kilburn. Honorary pallbearers will be Windell Kerns and Mark Heffron. Donna was born to Robert I. and Eloise (Clifton) Kelley on August 31, 1948, in McAlester. She attended school in Kansas City, Kansas and Indianola. Donna married Arville Kindred September 25, 1998, in Sebastion County, Arkansas. Donna was of the Christian faith. Donna worked at several jobs while raising her sons including farming, ranching, ASCS office with the USDA. She had a distinguished career of 28 years with the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. She began working on the bomb and mine production line and eventually was promoted all the way to Area Foreman (Quarterman) over Production. So many coworkers have reached out to the family and shared their great respect, love and admiration for her. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, camping, attending estate sales and refurbishing furniture. She liked to read, play Wahoo and Dominoes and was an avid Oklahoma City Thunder fan. She was very partial to her beloved dogs, Sadie and Tiffany. She dearly loved her sons and daughters-in-law, father and mother, sisters, aunts, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family members and friends. That love was returned to her by so many. Donna is survived by her sons from her first marriage with Glen Kerns: Ken Kerns and wife Dawn-Marie, Robert Kerns and wife April, Andy Kerns and wife Mary all of Ulan. Six grandchildren: Jessica Davis and husband Shawn (aka Jimmy). Rebecca Morris and husband Jeremy, Rachel Miller and husband Brandon, Joseph Robert Kerns and fiancé Shelby Duncan, Audry Avendano and Elias Salazar. Nineteen great-grandchildren and at least one on the way; Elisha Whitacre, Norah Jean Davis, Shawn Davis, Keegan, Job, Abigail, Eliana, Jonah, Benjamin, Gideon, and Evangaline Morris, Timothy Kerns, Jacob, Noah, and Karson Miller, Joseph Alexander Kerns, Azaya and Axena Craig, Aysun Harrison. Sisters; Sharon Perry and husband William of Scipio, Connie Webb and husband Patrick of Murchison Tx, Janet Dawes and husband Donnie of Sweeny Tx and Aunts; Tommy Lou Hendershot of McAlester and Barbara Clifton of McAlester; numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
