Carolyn Sue Conner, 77, of McAlester, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at her home. Family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church in McAlester with Rev. Jamie Kirkpatrick and Rev. Fred Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery. Carol was born on October 10, 1943 in McAlester to Roy C. and Olene (Henson) Smithson. She attended McAlester Public Schools and married Leroy Conner on August 7th, 1962 at Buttermilk Mountain, south of Krebs. They made their home in McAlester where she and Leroy opened their first business in 1973 and they worked together side by side in multiple businesses until they retired in January 2019. Carol used to say they went from one end of Main Street to the other. She was a member of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church where she was very active. She had a servant's heart, quick witted, loved people and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband, Leroy of the home; 3 children and spouses, Carrie and Greg Reed of McAlester, OK, Connie and Jay Hurt of Tulsa, OK and Clay and Sherry Conner of McAlester, OK; grandchildren, Westy, James, Jessica, Nick, Tabitha and Tyler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vicki and Tom Mixon, Tracy Cornutt; step sister and brothers, JaQuetta Fagan, Finus Kelley and Dee Kelley; brother-in-law and wife, Larry and Nancy Conner; sister-in-law, Linda Barlow; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, special friends and beloved by all. She was preceded in death by her mother and fathers, Olene and Eual Kelley and Roy Smithson; infant sister, Marjie Noreen Smithson; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Dwight Sims and a grandson, Jordan Casey Bernhardt; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lurine and Roy Conner; sister-in-law, Beth Conner and nephew, Ted Barlow
