Velinda Sue (Holdeman) Sennett-Bowen, 64, of Stuart, died Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in McAlester. The family will greet friends and visitors from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Bishop Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Bart Patterson. Burial will follow in Tannehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Skinner, Jim Sanguins, Brandon Igou, Riley Stewart, Jake Medley, Brent Strode, and Duane Holloway. Velinda was born to Irven Ray and Mildred Francis (Effinger) Holdeman in Long Beach, California on February 5, 1957. She grew up in Indianola. She married Ronald Sennett on March 18, 1972 in McAlester, and he preceded her in death in 1994. Velinda owned and operated several bars in the McAlester area including The Stagger Inn in North Town. She also owned and operated V & R Cleaning Company for over 20 years. She was an avid coin collector and loved to collect costume jewelry. She enjoyed shopping for antiques. Velinda loved to listen to music, dance, and was always the life of the party. She married Willis Edwin "Ed" Bowen on October 26, 2002 in McAlester. Velinda is preceded in death by her parents: Irven Holdeman and Mildred Holdeman-Lawson, first husband: Ronald Sennett, second husband: Ed Bowen, brothers: Allen Holdeman and Larry Holdeman, and maternal grandmother: Etta Rodden. She is survived by her son: Ronald Sennett and fiance', Jim Sanguins of Roy, Washington; daughters: Dana Stewart of Haileyville, Shelly Igou and husband, Brandon of Stuart; grandchildren: Alisa Weeks, Holly Skinner and husband, Tim, Selinda Stewart, Riley Stewart, Haili Igou, Paige Igou; great-grandchildren: Gavin Skinner, Austen Skinner, Madelinne Skinner; honorary grandchildren: Carleigh Medley, Jake Medley, Jayden Weeks, Johnathon Weeks; sisters: Patricia Holdeman of Spokane, Washington, Loretta Braggs of California; brothers: Ernie Holdeman of McAlester, Dewey Holdeman and wife, Glenda of Ft. Supply; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
