Dewayne "Lightning" Mosley
November 9, 1941-30 June 2022
Dewayne "Lightning" Mosley, 80 of Savanna died Thursday, June 30, 2022 in Augusta, Georgia. The family will greet friends and relatives from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7th, 2022 prior to the funeral service at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7th, 2022 at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. J.T. Carnell. Burial with military honors will follow at Savanna Cemetery, Savanna, Oklahoma. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jeff Woodard, Fred Dunn, Spanky Browne, Cody Browne, Kevin Walter, Richard Ingram Dewayne was born to George and Virgie Evelyn (Turner) Moseley on November 9, 1941 at Weathers, Oklahoma. He was raised in the Jack Fork Mountains and graduated from Pittsburg High School. Dewayne entered the Air Force in 1959, and after a short stint, landed back in Oklahoma, where he met and married the love of his life, Edith Marie Trammell on August 18, 1961 in Eufaula. He was an expert dozer operator, who built ponds, worked in the coal mines, and help build the turnpike and I40. Dewayne was a member of Frink Baptist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Virgie Moseley; wife, Edith Marie Mosley on November 29, 2013; father-in-law, Leo Trammell; mother-in-law, Vera Opal (Baucom) Trammell; sisters-in-law, Kay (Welch) Roberts, Vera Lee (Christopher) Jackson; brothers-in-law, Darrell "Bo" Trammell and William Andrew Trammell; brother, Allen Moseley; sisters, Georgie (Moseley) Dobson and Edna (Moseley) Mickle. Dewayne is survived by daughters, Dewana Woodard and husband Jeff of Evans, GA; Sandra Dunn and husband Fred of Hartshorne; June Hawthorne and husband Collins of Temple, Texas; and Opal Mosley of McAlester; grandchildren; Garry Sharp, Joshua Woodard, Anthony Woodard, Matthew Woodard, Delilah Rodriguez, Holle Whitfield; Patrice Smith and Tisha Tharpe; Edyta Thomason, Jasmine Thomason, Kaeya Thomason, fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Billie Rice, sister-in-law, Carolyn Moseley, Jim Moseley and wife, Hollie; brother-in-law, Denver Dobson; brothers-in-law, Bill Trammell and wife, Bernice of McAlester; Henry Trammell and wife, Dianne of Haileyville; Leo "Corky" Trammell and wife, Becky of Burkburnett, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
