Alicia Dawn Williams, 58, formerly of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home, McAlester, Oklahoma. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home with Father Kingsley George-Obilene officiating. The burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery, McAlester, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be John Uzzo, Kendall Thompson, Don Smitherman, Bernie Wynn, Michael Wynn, John Walker, and John Peter Uzzo, II. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawson Giddings, Jr, Brodie Steed, Chris Thompson, Michael Johnson, Primus Moore, Dr. William Wynn, Shawn Smoot, and Daniel DeSouza. Flower bearers will be McAlester High School Class of 1980. Alicia was born on October 23, 1962 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Napolean “Jim” Williams and Allene (Thomas) Williams. She married Dominic “Nic” Uzzo on May 5, 2000 in Norman, Oklahoma. Alicia grew up in McAlester and graduated with the Class of 1980. She attended the University of Oklahoma and lived in Norman for the remainder of her life. She had a love for music, dance, and was also a talented vocalist. Alicia was a member of the Catholic faith. She had a deep spiritual side and loved Joel Osteen and Deepak Chopra. She loved cats, and referred to herself as “momma kitty” to all strays that she came across or found their way to her. She is survived by her husband: Nic Uzzo of the home; her aunts: Dorothy Tice of Oklahoma City, and Josephine Giddings of McAlester; mother-in-law and father-in-law: John and Anne Uzzo of Tahlequah; her brother-in-law: John Peter Uzzo, II and wife, Cathy of Claremore; her sisters-in-law: Amy Spears and husband, Ronnie of Tahlequah, and Sara DeMoss of Tahlequah; her nieces and nephews: Kaleb, Kason, Lauren, Bailey, Whitney, Courtney, Cassidy, Justin, Audrie, Brodie, Carsyn, and Brilynn; along with a host of loving cousins, other family and friends. Alicia is preceded in death by her mother: Allene (Thomas) Williams; her father: Napoleon “Jim” Williams; her aunts: Willie Mae Thomas McGill, Juanita Thomas, and Betty Thomas; and uncles: Harry D. Thomas, William Thomas, Jr, Dempsey Thomas, Earl Thomas, Charles F. Thomas, Oscar Thomas, and Elmer Thomas.
