Pine Top Cemetery
Patsy Ruth Parent, resident of McAlester, Oklahoma died April 16, 2013 at McAlester Regional Health Center at the age of 66.
Patsy was born July 27, 1946 in Magnolia, Texas to Warren G. "Butch" Hardung and Ruth (Bentley) Hardung. She graduated from Palacios High School in 1967 in Palacios, TX. She met Jessie Vernon Parent in Cuero, TX in 1975 and were married on November 6, 1985 in Kiowa, OK. She was a worthy matron of the Kiowa Chapter #65 Eastern Star for more than 20 years. She enjoyed helping others, volunteering her time, cooking and traveling.
Patsy is survived by her sisters, Lucy Earlene Crawley of Cuero, TX, Norma Sue Collier of Bayou La Batre, AL, and Wanda Thompson of Theodore, AL; step-sons, Jessie Vernon Parent, Jr. and wife, Spring of LaPorte, TX, David Allen Parent and wife, Marilyn of Logansport, LA, William Glee Parent and wife, Shelley of Lynnwood, WA, and Gary Lynn Parent of Logansport, LA; step-daughter, DeVaLeRee Parent of Joaquin, TX; aunt, Agnes Reed of VaCliff, TX; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; 7 nieces and nephews; 6 great nieces and great nephews; and 1 great-great niece; and a host of several other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Ruth Hardung, and husband, Jessie Parent.
A graveside service will be 10:00 am Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Pine Top Cemetery. Pittsburg, OK. Rev. Loman Parent will officiate.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Chaney Harkins Funeral Home, McAlester.
