The family will greet friends and visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Crowder School Gymnasium officiated by Rev. Chip Lott and Kevin Sharp. Burial will follow at the Perteet Family Cemetery in Bugtussle. Pallbearers will be Darren “Scooter” Sutterfield, Anson Sutterfield, Cody Golla, Gary Crenshaw, Kenny Leak, and Clint Jameson. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Patton, Jessie Patton, Robert Florenzano, Kyle Sharp, and all of her nephews, great-nephews, and numerous baby-sitting kids. Elizabeth was born to Roy Edward and Allie Rue (Perteet) Brannon on October 4, 1940 at their home in Bugtussle. She attended Flowery Mound School to the 6th grade and then attended Crowder Public School. She was a star basketball player where she was a guard. She had the opportunity to attend college on a full ride basketball but one bus ride to South Texas made her decide it was too far away from home. Liz married Aaron Hugene Sutterfield on May 25, 1958 and they made their home in Shawnee, and had 3 children: Teresa, Tammy, and Darren "Scooter" Sutterfield. Liz married her High School sweetheart MSGT. James R. "Bob" Jameson on December 15, 1975. The family moved to Randolph AFB in Universal City, Texas and had their son, Rory Jameson. Liz began her in home daycare while being stationed at RAFB in 1978. When Bob retired from the Air Force in 1981, they came back home to McAlester where once again she began doing what she loved, babysitting her "kids." She was lovingly known to many as "Mama Liz." She served on the Crowder School Board for over 35 years, and she never missed a basketball game. Liz was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in McAlester. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Allie Brannon; brothers: Jackie Brannon, Gary Brannon; sisters: Darlene Brannon, Patricia Crenshaw; sister-in-law: Ruth Brannon; brothers-in-law: Bernard Crenshaw, Larry Leak; and son-in-law: Mike Shann. She is survived by her husband: Bob Jameson; daughters: Teresa Durant and husband, Greg of McAlester, Tammy Shann of Hartshorne; sons: Darren "Scooter" Sutterfield of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Rory Jameson of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren: Anson Sutterfield and wife, Brandi of Checotah, Cody Golla and wife, Myranda of McAlester, Tyler Shann and wife, Cherish of Hartshorne, Lexie Hamilton of McAlester; great-grandchildren: Hallie Sutterfield of McAlester, Chase Shann of Hartshorne, Caris Hamilton of McAlester, Fisher, Grayson, and Zander Sutterfield, all of Checotah; sister: Pearl Leak of Crowder; brothers: Johnnie Brannon of McAlester, Gaylon Brannon and wife, Denise of McAlester; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. We, the family, extend a special thank you to the staff of McAlester Nursing Center and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care of our momma. We would also like to thank her special friends and neighbors, Willis and Betty Deatherage.
