Loistine (Cindy) James, 80, of McAlester, died Monday, October 6, 2014 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9 at Bishops Chapel of Memories with Rev. James Crowson officiating. Interment will be at North Town Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Cindy was born July 18, 1934 in Pittsburg to Jonas S. & Lora Bell Byrd Shannon. She graduated High School in Pittsburg in 1951. Cindy married Floyd Raymond James on March 27, 1953 in Atoka. She worked for Komar for almost 40 years and Goodys Clothing Department Store for 8 years before retiring. Her favorite activities always involved her family. Taking care of others is what Cindy loved best. She was a longtime member of First Pentecostal Church. Survivors include her daughter: Lynn Burnett & husband, Larry of McAlester; sons: Gerry James & wife, Ramona of McAlester, Terry James & wife, Denise of McAlester, Jeremy James & wife, Stacey of McAlester; grandchildren: Amber Light & husband, Jeff, Brian Giacomo & wife, Melissa, Shannon Giacomo & wife, Tina, Stephanie Bishop & husband, Tony, Shelly Simpson & husband, Kody, Karisa Smedley & husband, Grayson, Kayla James, Steven Amy, Jennifer Amy, Javin James, Peyton James, Kayden James, Sophia James. Also, great-grandchildren: Adilyn Light, Evan Light, Kasidy Romero, Carlos Romero, Amber Giacomo, Collin Giacomo, Kristen Lane, Jaycee Lane, Camden Lane, Brylee Bishop, Drake Reed, Gannen Smedley; great-great-grandchildren: Caylie & Cayven Hill; brothers: Doy Shannon & wife, Shirley, Coy Shannon, Bud Shannon & wife, Donna; sister: Dorothy (Gal) Pope & husband, Jimmy; sister-in-law: Cleo James; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Floyd James, a son: Kerry James, a grandson: Michael Aaron James, brother-in-law: Noel James, and sister-in-law: Lola Faye Perteet. Pallbearers will be Brian Giacomo, Collin Giacomo, Jeff Light, Stacey Shannon, Jerry Perteet, and Larry James.
