Margery Catherine (Bruner) Hallford, affectionately known as Margy, 95, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Bishop Chapel of Memories. Officiated by Dr. Christopher Graham, Rev. Bobby Price, Rev. Joel Price and her niece, Rev. Mary Bruner. Burial will follow at Northtown Cemetery in McAlester, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Joshua Hallford, Patrick Walling, Rev. Joel Price, Rev. Terry Ray Williams and Tanner Wiliams, Nathan Hallford and Eric Terry. Honorary Pallbearer, Rev. Daniel Taylor and Jessie Terry. Margery was born on February 5, 1929 in Ada, Oklahoma to Erwin Bruner and Gertrude (Chance) Payne. Margy spent her childhood years in Bonham, Texas before embarking on a life that would see her residing in various places including Sacramento, California, Arkansas, Texas and Missouri. Despite her travels, she always considered Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, her home. She married Troy Leon Hallford, in 1946. Together, they were blessed with three children: Catherine, Randal, and Ron Hallford. Margy's professional life was dedicated to nurturing young minds as she worked as a private school teacher, and a Kindergarten teacher's assistant for the Pittsburg school for 15 years. Her gentle spirit and patient guidance left a lasting impact on the many lives she touched. Margy was a devout member of the Apostolic Church of McAlester. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, and she lived a life that exemplified the virtues of her beliefs. She was a faith-filled, spirited, and loving woman who brought light and joy to everyone around her. Margy was preceded in death by her father, Erwin Bruner; mother, Gertrude (Chance) Payne; an infant child, Baby Hallford; a son, Troy Ronald “Ron” Hallford; along with two brothers and two sisters. Margy's legacy is carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Walling of Wilburton; her son, Randal Hallford, and wife, Patti, of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren; Matthew, Carla and April Hallford; Nathan, Joshua, Aimi Lewsaw, Andrew and Staci Hallford and Shaughnessy Parker, Brian, Kyle Clark, Eric, Terry, Amanda Pitts, Cherylynn Collins, Lori Walling ; nine great-grandchildren; special niece, Mary Bruner of Fort Worth, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Becky Hallford; former daughter-in-law, Becky Larue; and former son-in-law, Patrick Walling; former daughter-in-law, Diane Brown. Margy also leaves behind numerous other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Margy's life was a testament to the power of love and faith. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
