Martha Elizabeth Walrath, 83, of McAlester, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at her home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Bishop Chapel of Memories. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Bishop Chapel of Memories with Dr. Scott Vandenheuvel officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery in McAlester. Pallbearers will be Jon Fields, Jeremiah Prusha, Michael Kepler, Jason Walrath, Everett Walrath, and Matthew Monheiser. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Walrath, Walter Walrath, Lonnie Kepler, David Beale, and Wallace Walrath. Martha was the daughter of Morris and Martha (Hildebrant) Stilson. She married Robert Walrath on February 21, 1959. They had 2 daughters, Eva and Elizabeth. Martha graduated from Troy High School in Troy, New York, and earned a food service degree from El Central College in Dallas, Texas. She held many jobs over her life time. She cooked for Plano Schools, was a housekeeper for McAlester Regional Hospital, and The Genealogy Library of McAlester. She loved her church, bowling, doing genealogy, fishing with her husband, and taking cruises with her family. Martha is survived by her husband: Robert; her daughters: Eva (Lonnie) Kepler and Elizabeth Stanfield; her grandchildren: Kristin Prusha, Jennifer, Kepler, and Britney Fields; her great-grandchildren: Matthew, Michael, Addison, Easten, Kolton, Damon, and Gavin; her brothers-in-law: Earl Walrath and Walter Walrath; her sisters-in-law: Marion Ford, Carol Stilson, and Bobbie Stilson; and many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. Martha is preceded in death by her parents: Morris and Martha Stilson; her grandson: Matthew Robert Barlow; and brothers: Morris "Bud" Stilson, Arthur Stilson, and Edward Stilson.
