Pon (Narach) Lackey, 76 of McAlester died Tuesday, March 25, 2025 in Tulsa surrounded by loved ones The family will greet friends 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Kenny Springer. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronny Lackey, David Lackey, Tina Smith, Jackie Smith, Cody Smith and Cobey Trobaugh. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Gross and Jimmie Smith. Pon was one of 12 children born to Pete and See Narach on November 5, 1948 in Ban Phai, Thailand. She grew up in Thailand and married Larry V. Lackey on June 30, 1975 in Karat, Thailand. Due to Larry's military service, they lived in many different places. They settled in the McAlester area in June of 1989. Pon had a passion for cooking and she worked as a cook for Heritage Hills Nursing Home, Walnut Grove Living Center and McAlester High School where she retired. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved to cook big family meals especially on special occasions like birthdays and holidays. Pon's legacy of cooking and caring for her family will live long through her family. She will be missed but not forgotten. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and See Narach; granddaughter, Stormie Cheyanne Miller; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Andy and Wanda Lackey; sister-in-law, Jackie Marlow; brothers-in-law, Wayne Marlow and Kenneth Houser. Pon is survived by husband, Larry V. Lackey of the home; daughters, Tina Smith and husband, Jackie, Angie Miller; all of McAlester; sons, Ronny Lackey of Addison, Texas, David Lackey and Keli of Longtown, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Shalyn Trobaugh and Cobey, Sahara Smith, Cody Smith and Paige, Keegan Dickens, Reagan Dickens; great grandchildren, Stormie Trobaugh, Blakely Smith, Casey Smith, Cody "June" Smith, Rylee Faulkner, Juleyin Faulkner, Wylee Dickens and Alex; brothers-in-law, Kenny Lackey and wife, Lesa, Terry Lackey and wife, Melissa; sisters-in-law, Gayla Wingo and husband, Jimmy, Judy Houser; brothers, sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends, including special friends, Anita Faulkner and Annabelle Faulkner and Kim Gross.
