Neva Jo (Vasbinder) Green, of McAlester died Friday, October 29, 2021 at her residence. The family will greet friends and family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2021 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service will be held at North Town Church of Christ officiated by Mr. Kelly Benson. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Landon Moon, Dylan Green, John Green, II, Brayden Sexton, Jason Moon and Darren Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be her North Town Church of Christ Church Family. Neva Jo was born to Joseph Albert and Tommie Cecile (Coley) Vasbinder on June 2, 1934 in Oklahoma City, OK. She graduated from Wewoka High School. She Neva married Bobby Gene Green on December 31, 1953. She owned and operated Neva's Special "T’s" in McAlester for several years. She was a longtime member of Northtown Church of Christ. She spent most of her time enjoying family and friends and volunteering in many organizations, including, hospice, visiting nursing homes, and was very active in North Town Church of Christ activities. Neva loved shopping for her family and friends. She also enjoyed taking care of her yard and visiting with family members and friends. Neva was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Tommie Vasbinder; husband, Bob Green. Neva is survived by daughter, Bobbi Lisa Maxey and husband, Wade of McAlester; son, John Chance Green and wife Margaret of McAlester; grandchildren, Shandria Moon and husband, Jason of Venus, Texas, Lacey Green and husband, Aaron of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, John Green and wife, Jessica of McAlester, Jamie Phillips of Lawton, Dylan Green and wife, Meredith of Edmond, Brayden Green of McAlester; great grandchildren, Hailey Moon of Dallas, Texas, Summer Moon of College Station, Texas, Landon Moon of Waco, Texas, Stormi Green of McAlester, Elijah Green of McAlester, Josiah Scott of Lawton; numerous other family members and longtime friends.
