Kimberly Anne Burkheiser, 62, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Walnut Grove Living Center. Viewing will be held from: Noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Glenn Meyer officiating. The burial will follow. Kim was born on May 21, 1959 in San Diego, California to Charles Edward Buxbaum and Patricia Nell (Born) Buxbaum. She married Thomas Burkheiser. Kim graduated from McAlester High School with the Class of 1977. She worked as a paralegal for the Texas Department of Human Services. She is survived by her sons: Patrick Burkheiser of McAlester, and Dale Burkheiser of Austin, TX; her mother: Patricia (Born) Herman of McAlester; her sister: Shannan Wilcox of McAlester; along with numerous other family and friends. Kim is preceded in death by her father: Charles Buxbaum; her stepfather: James Herman; her brother: Ken Buxbaum; her husband: Thomas Burkheiser; and maternal grandparents: Chester and Verlie Born.
