Betty Lou Bornheim, 90, of Krebs, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 in McAlester. Graveside funeral services will be Saturday, February 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Betty Bornheim was born on December 8, 1934 in Welty, Oklahoma to Fate and Alta (Pulley) Welch. Betty has lived in Pittsburg County virtually all her life, mainly in Krebs. She married Jimmie Carl Bornheim on December 24, 1954. He and Betty owned and operated the B&J Bait Shop in Krebs for a number of years. She also worked at the McAlester Hospital for a few years, then owned and operated Nana's Day Care for a number of years, then worked at a local nursing home until retirement. She also raised 4 children in the process and served as scout leader for the kids. When she could, she enjoyed going camping and fishing. Betty is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Jimmie Dale Bornheim, Bruce and Lori Bornheim, and Carl and Becky Bornheim; grandchildren, Vanessa Dawson and David, Heather Bornheim, Timothy Gamble, Clayton Bornheim, and Kayla McClellan; 2 great-grandchildren, Mitchel Bowden and Alyson Dawson; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Dorenda Welch; and 2 brothers-in-law, Johnny Cox and Jack Snyder. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Rosemary Careathers; and 8 siblings
