Robert L. Bocher, known affectionately as Bob to his friends and family, passed away peacefully. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in McAlester, Oklahoma with Mr. Charles Watkins officiating. A burial will follow. Bob was born on October 28, 1947, in McAlester, Oklahoma to Andrew Lawerence Bocher and Madlyn A. (Mathis) Bocher. Bob was a cherished only child who brought immense joy and laughter to all who knew him. Bob's early years in McAlester were filled with the close-knit bonds of community and family. An alumnus of Central State University, Bob's education laid the foundation for a successful career in retail sales. He dedicated 19 years of his life to Anthony's, where he excelled as a store manager, earning the respect and admiration of both colleagues and customers. Bob's professional journey continued at Phillip Morris Sales, where he spent 15 years before retiring on March 1, 2008. His work ethic, leadership, and warm personality made him a beloved figure in the workplace. Bob's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners, and his enthusiasm for OU football was infectious. Raised in the Baptist church, his faith was a guiding light throughout his life, providing him with strength and solace. Bob is survived by a circle of lifelong friends, including Juanita Orler, Lana DeFrange, and John Woods, all of McAlester; his uncles, Clarence Mathis and his wife Diane of Oklahoma City, and Junior Bocher of McLoud; along with his cousin, Pat Bocher of McAlester and numerous other cousins, family members, and friends. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Lawerence Bocher and Madlyn A. (Mathis) Bocher. As we bid farewell to Bob, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with friendship, dedication, and joy.
