Jonnie Beth Bernhardt, 70, of McAlester, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Oklahoma City. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27 at the First Free Will Baptist Church with Larry Bernhardt officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Beth was born to Joe Paul and Ida Leah (Shepard) Roberson June 11, 1944 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She grew up in Sulphur Springs, Texas and graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1962. She married Larry Bernhardt April 7, 1967 in McAlester at the First Free Will Baptist Church. Beth worked for Francis Stipe for several years at the newspaper and radio station. She most recently was managing Happy Days Hotel. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family. Beth was a member of the McAlester First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband: Larry Bernhardt of the home; son: Todd Bernhardt and wife, Kathy of Sulphur Springs, Texas; daughters: Angel Bernhardt of McAlester, Honey Williams and husband, Brian of Bristow. Also, grandchildren: Krystal, Rachel, Skyler, Shelby; great-grandson: Maverick; aunt: Monetah Moore of Irving, Texas; niece: Julie Perozzi of Commerce, Texas; mother-in-law: Eva Jean Bernhardt of McAlester; and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joe Paul and Ida Roberson, and a brother: Joe Ed Roberston. Pallbearers will be Bobby Coggin, Jason Barnett, Jack Mouser, Michael Leal, and Gary McKnight, and Jim Day.
