Ronald Lee Austin, age 62, of McAlester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, in McAlester. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Bishop Chapel of Memories, officiated by Rev. Bobby Maddox. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Lee Austin, Jordan Austin, Sr., Jordan Austin, Jr., Kevin Austin, Marcus Austin, Anthony Austin, and Leonard Austin. Ronald was born on March 28, 1963, in Oklahoma City to Earnestine Austin, alongside his beloved twin brother, Donald. He attended school in McAlester and was especially proud of the medals he earned while participating in the Special Olympics—achievements that brought him great joy and a sense of accomplishment. For more than 20 years, Ronald faithfully worked as a kitchen helper at the Stipe Center for the City of McAlester. He took pride in his work and was known for his warm spirit and kind heart. Above all else, Ronald cherished his family. They were truly his pride and joy. He loved spending time with his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, always enjoying the laughter and togetherness they shared. Ronald had a deep love for music and dancing, which reflected his joyful and free-spirited nature. He was a faithful attendee of McAlester First Baptist Church before his health began to fail. Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Earnestine Colbert; his stepfather, Walter Colbert; his brothers, Benji Austin and Thomas C. Austin; and his sisters, Sharon Ann Rentie and Brenda Johnson. Those left to cherish his memory include his twin brother, Donald Lee Austin and wife, Dara, of Oklahoma City; brothers, Jordan Austin, Sr. and wife, Mabel, of McAlester, and Lionel Rentie; sister, Viola Banks of Lawton; uncle, Jack Clemmie Austin and wife, Anne, of Kansas City; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
