Louis C. "L.C." Shannon The McAlester News Capital Wednesday April 10, 2013 Louis C. "L.C" Shannon, 90, of McAlester, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at his home. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Brumley-Mills Chapel. Funeral services will be a 2 p.m. Thursday at Brumley-Mills Chapel with the Rev. William Nixon officiating. Burial will be at Massey Cemetery in Crowder; military honors will be provided by Robert B. Thomas, VFW #1098. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester. Born Jan 21, 1923, in Crowder, he was the son of Daniel Boone and Emma (Mote) Shannon. He served in the US Army Air Corp in Saipan during WWII. He married Lahoma Jameson on June 3, 1952, in Fort Smith, AR. He was an electrician at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising French bulldogs. He was a member of Oklahoma Pet Professionals. Survivors include his wife, Lahoma Shannon, of the home; children and spouses, Ida and Rick Wall, Sherman, TX, David and Kathleen Shannon of Canadian and Randy Shannon of McAlester. Also grandchildren, spouses and their children, Perrin and Lisa Wall, Austin, TX, Leana Union and son, Thomas, of TN, Ryan Shannon of Tulsa, Blake and Chalane Shannon and daughter, Jade, of McAlester, Matt and Meredith Shannon and children, Charlotte and Deke, Pacifica, CA and Asley Shannon, Austin, TX and brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Mollie Shannon of McAlester. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Boone and Emma (Mote) Shannon; brothers, Bud and Leo Shannon, and sister, Elizabeth Hatfield. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Perrin Wall, Ryan Shannon, Blake Shannon, Ashley Shannon, Bryan Coston, Chalane Shannon and LeAna Union. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Stiles, Gwen Engleman, Bill Salyers and Cecil Church.
