Geraldine was born December 24, 1934, in Indianola, Oklahoma, the daughter of Joseph Newton and Sarah Janetta (Owen) Young. She passed away Wednesday morning, December 4, 2013 at Grace Living Center in Norman, OK. Funeral services for Flora “Geraldine” Bollinger, age 78, of Moore, OK will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the Mt. Vernon Holiness Church, 3219 S. High Ave. in Oklahoma City with Pastor Rickey Searcy officiating. Geraldine attended Indianola Public Schools, graduating from Indianola High School in May of 1953. She was united in marriage to James Wendell Bollinger on June 19, 1954, in McAlester, OK. She worked as a garment inspector for several years at Komar in McAlester, OK. After the death of her husband on March 8, 2012, she moved to Moore, Oklahoma to live with her niece, Shirley Stephens. Geraldine loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music, attending church, canning, and crocheting. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Holiness Church. In addition to her husband, Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James, Howard and Mitchell Young; three sisters, Martha Harris, Jewel Shaffer and her twin sister, Earlene Bollinger. Geraldine is survived by one son; Chris Bollinger and wife Debbie of Lebanon, VA; two grandchildren, Austin and Kayla Bollinger of Lebanon, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation for Geraldine will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman with family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will begin at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Indianola Cemetery in Indianola, OK.
