Funeral services for Mrs. Earlene "Cora" Bollinger, age 76, of Oklahoma City will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Mt. Vernon Holiness Church, 3219 South High Avenue in Oklahoma City with Pastor Rickey Searcy officiating. Cora was born December 24, 1934 in Indianola, Oklahoma the daughter of Joseph Newton and Sara Janetta (Owen) Young. She passed away Thursday morning, April 28, 2011 at the Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Cora attended the Indianola Public Schools, graduating from Indianola High School in May of 1953. She was united in marriage to Mr. Alvie Bollinger on July 23, 1955 in McAlester, Oklahoma and the two of them moved to Oklahoma City. Cora and Alvie resided in Oklahoma City their entire married life, where Cora was a homemaker, caring for their four children. Cora was her happiest when she was with her family and enjoyed “family get-togethers.” She also enjoyed reading, listening to gospel music and being involved at Mt. Vernon Holiness Church. After the death of her husband, Alvie, on November 21, 1985. Cora went to work for Bipo, Inc. remaining with them until the company relocated to Blackwell, Oklahoma in 2001. In addition to her husband, Cora was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Michael Bollinger, Jr. on June 30, 1993; one daughter-in-law, Novella Bollinger on March 10, 2010; three brothers and two sisters. Cora is survived by two sons; Michael Bollinger of Norman, OK; Steve Bollinger and his wife, Rose of Norman, OK; two daughters; Shirley Stephens and her husband, Skip of Moore, OK; and Regina Searcy of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will greet friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman, OK. A Graveside service will begin at 3:00 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Indianola Cemetery in Indianola, OK.
