Martha Louise Cooter, 82, of McAlester, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at her home. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Pastor George Theroux officiating. Burial will follow at Hugh Low Cemetery in Scipio. Pallbearers will be Chase Slone, Garrett Koprovic, Anthony Masters, Terry Lequieu, Brody Brannon, and Clint Brannon Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Koprovic, Randall Pendergraph, Gaylon Brannon, Shawn Cummings, and Tony Bagby. Martha Louise was born July 25, 1939 in Scipio to D.D. and Delours (Tollison) Crandell. She was raised in the Indianola area and graduated from Indianola High School. Louise married Carl Houston "Pete" Cooter on December 17, 1959 at the Haileyville Christian Church in Haileyville. She was a wife of U.S. Air Force serviceman, serving the United States along with her husband. She was a homemaker for most of her life, but also worked at Charles Komar and sons, and was a cook at Emerson Public School. She enjoyed cooking and was known for making the food taste good. Martha also loved to sew, spending time with her grandchildren, and had one of the family's greenest thumbs when it came to gardening. Louise is survived by her daughters: Laura Koprovic and husband, Jamie, Lisa Boling and Randall Pendergraph, all of McAlester; son: David Cooter and wife, Terri of Leander, Texas; grandchildren: Jennifer Boling of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jeremiah Koprovic of McAlester, Christina Spinks and husband, Matthew of Wisconsin, and Garrett Koprovic of McAlester; great-grandchildren: Chase Houston Slone, Richard "RJ" Spinks, and Emily Spinks; her sister: Helen Kirk of McAlester; sister-in-law: Wanda Sue Crandell of Noble; and numerous nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Carl Houston "Pete" Cooter on January 31, 2009; sisters: Kay Fish, Joyce Bonnetti, Janice Sue Buff, and JoAnn Brown; and brothers: Paul Crandell, Aaron Crandell, and Gerald Crandell.
