Jobe Irvin Smith, 65, of Hartshorne, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024 in Tulsa. Funeral services for Mr. Smith are set for Saturday, April 6, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Hartshorne with Pastor Scott Horstman officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lonny Collier, Gary Wilson, David Woodruff, Phillip Smith, Domanick Swing, and Bobby Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Benny Smith and Ivan Wilson. The family will welcome friends for visitation at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne on Friday, April 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Jobe Smith was born on October 5, 1958 in Morenci, Arizona to John Jacob Smith and Sadie Elizabeth (Wilson) Smith. He grew up in Arizona, where he worked as a pizza maker before he went to work for the Forestry Service. He moved to Hartshorne in the early 1980's and worked as a security guard at Oklahoma Aerotronics, then worked at the chicken plant in McAlester. In his spare-time he liked working on computers and building models. Jobe is survived by a daughter, Donetta Renee Smith; 2 brothers, Benny Smith and Bobby Smith; a niece, Heather LaQuay; a nephew, Phillip Smith and his wife Beatrice; and 2 great nieces, Madalyne Smith and Bailey Smith; and 2 great nephews, Domanick Swing and Conner Collier. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and a baby sister, Elizabeth Smith.
