Dennis James, 68, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at McAlester Regional Health Center. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Hartshorne Elementary School Event Center with Steve Mass officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne. Dennis was born on September 21, 1956 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jimmie Joe and JoAnn (Sensibaugh) James. He married Lillian Myree Marcangeli on August 10, 1974 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and his greatest passions were spending time in the great outdoors, and every minute he got to spend with his family. Survivors include his wife, Lillian (Myree) James; sons and daughters-in-law, Justin and Julie James of Hartshorne, OK, and Preston and Shasti James of Eufaula, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Shalyn and Zach Johnston of Eufaula, OK; grandchildren, Easten James and wife, Judah, Journi James, Caden James, Justis James, Jentry James, Jurre James, Doss Johnston, Rafe Johnston; great-grandchildren, Enoch James and Psalms James; brothers and sister-in-law, Kenny and Terri James of Ponca City, and Timmy James of Haileyville; sisters, Jeannie O'Daniel of Bartlesville, and JoAnna Barnhill of Hartshorne. He was preceded in death by parents, Jimmie Joe and JoAnn James of Haileyville, and brother-in-law, Tony Barnhill. Active pallbearers will be Zach Johnston, Brent Roach, Easten James, Caden James, Justis James, and Jentry James. Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene Norris, Joe Phillips, Mitch Lindsay, Terry Rich, David Harris, Walt Jolly, Jeff Beare, and Keith Duke.
