Eddie Gene Walters, 78, of Crowder, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, in McAlester. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A private inurnment will take place at Crowder Cemetery in Crowder, Oklahoma. He was born on November 15, 1946, in Indianola, Oklahoma, to Lemuel and Bertha (Jones) Walters. He was the youngest of ten children. He graduated from Crowder High School and later from Eastern Oklahoma State College. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Eddie worked as a meter technician for Arkla Energy Resources for 20 years, retiring in 1999. An avid outdoorsman, he had a deep passion for coon hunting and would often go out five to six nights a week. He was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed watching television ministries in his later years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel and Bertha Walters; siblings and their spouses: L.B. Walters and his wives, Oma and Rosetta; Jessie Standridge and her husband, Ray; L.D. Walters; Billy Walters and his wife, Ann; Erma Wood and her husband, Burl; Ocie Wood and her husband, Deward; Virgil "Peck" Walters and his wife, Elfriede; and sister-in-law, Ethel Walters. Eddie is survived by his daughter, Patty Matthews of The Village; his son, Steven Walters and wife Jennie of Krebs; grandchildren: Christa Matthews, Dominique Harris (Brittany), Megan Walters, and Gracie West; great-grandson, Jalil Morris; brothers: John Walters and Leon "Sonny" Walters and wife, Emma; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
