Garland Trolinger, 97, of Crowder, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at McAlester Regional Health Center. Viewing and family visitation will be Friday, March 7, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 8, at 11:00 a.m. at the Crowder Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Crowder Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kenny Leak, Austin Leak, Will Allen, Kenny Wilson, Cliff Shannon, and Donald Wayne Shannon. Honorary pallbearers are Arby Trolinger, Mike Leak, Wayne Griffin, Keith Yount, Sam Leak, and Gene Kelley. Garland Trolinger was born on August 25, 1927 at Rock Pin, Oklahoma, near Crowder, to Homer and Ida Jane (Pyle) Trolinger. He grew up in the Crowder area and graduated from Crowder High School. After a couple of years, he joined the U. S. Army and served for 2 years, until receiving his honorable discharge. He returned to Crowder and worked in the coal mines near Henryetta for a couple of years. He then went to work at Komar's as a design pattern cutter until his retirement. Garland and Mary Leak were married on Nov. 30, 1951, and she preceded him in death on November 10, 2009. Garland had been ranching all his life, and when he retired from Komar's, that's what he focused on, and was still ranching at the age of 96 and 97. Garland is survived by his sister, Wilma Nadine Shannon; his brothers, Bobby Trolinger and Gene Kelley; a nephew, Kenny Leak and his wife Margie; 2 great nephews, Austin Leak and Sam Leak; and several other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; 3 brothers, Raymond, Norman Lee, and Donald Ray; and a sister, Opal Frances Ensley.
