Michael Lee Anderson, went to Heaven on June 20, 2023, at the OU Medical Center, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Michael was born on November 3, 1964 in Orange, California, to Gerald "Lee" Anderson and Lonnie Lu (Stevenson) Anderson. Michael graduated from Back Bay high school in Costa Mesa, California in 1982. Mike loved all sports and lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He went on to play football at Mt. San Jacinto Community College earning an Associate's degree. He then received a football scholarship to Montana Tech in Butte, Montana. Michael's passion for football continued throughout his life. When his son, Blake, played in high school and got a football scholarship to Morningside College, Mike was one proud father. Mike was his stepdaughter Alyssa's coach at home & biggest cheerleader in life. Mike enjoyed coaching and cheering on his daughter, Schae, when she played soccer and softball. Mike loved to compete in sports & loved watching his kids do the same. His favorite quote was, "Winning isn’t everything, it's the only thing." In his professional life, Mike was a skilled land surveyor, helping to design & build many developments and construction projects all over Southern California, where he called home with his kids and wife until moving to Oklahoma in 2018 to work and help his parents on their campground in Crowder, Oklahoma. Michael Lee Anderson was known as a passionate, loving, hardworking, supportive, playful, authentic, & full of energy man. He is loved & missed by many. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory, McAlester, Oklahoma, family will greet friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at Northside Assembly of God Church, McAlester, Oklahoma. Officiating by Mike's Pastor John Shirley, and retired Pastor Gary Honeycutt. Pallbearers Gary Anderson, Stephen Anderson, Scott Stevenson, David Frost, Linda Mills, Jay Rowlett, Clay Rosendahl, and Leroy Dailey Jr. Burial will follow at Crowder Cemetery, Crowder, Oklahoma. After burial, a celebration of life with food and drinks for Mike's family and friends, will be at the Choctaw Community Center, Crowder, Oklahoma. Michael is survived by his mother and father, Gerald "Lee" Anderson and Lonnie Lu (Stevenson) Anderson of Crowder, Oklahoma; his wife Kathie (Rowlett) Anderson of Crowder, Oklahoma.; his son Blake Anderssen and wife Ali of Ankeny, Iowa; daughter Schae Anderson of Ankeny, Iowa; stepdaughter Alyssa & husband, Clay Rosendahl, and granddaughter baby C. of Chino Hills, California. His brothers Gary of Crowder, Oklahoma and Stephen of Riverside, California. His brother-in-law, Jay Rowlett and wife Anna of Hot Springs, Arkansas; his sister-in-law Kim Rowlett of Riverside, California, Destiny Richards, and husband Theo of Banning, California. His aunt Cheryl Cope of Montana City, Montana and uncle Scott Stevenson and wife Donna of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Numerous great -aunts and great-uncles. Many cousins, nieces & nephews, friends and close childhood friends David "Frosty" Frost of Riverside, California and Linda Mills of Tustin, California. Family dogs, Scout, Layla, & Yeager. He is preceded in death by his former wife; Laurie Ramirez Anderson. Fraternal grandparents; Daniel Freemont Anderson and wife Geraldine Elizabeth (Lewis) Anderson. Maternal grandparents; Lon Creighton Stevenson Jr. and Marjorie Marie (Scott) Stevenson. Family dogs, Blondie, Rosie, Hunter, & Gizmo.
