Submitted by: Carol Rice

Beverly Elaine Barnett, 83, of McAlester, went to be with her Lord and her husband, on Sunday, August 10, peacefully in her sleep. Born on November 13, 1941, to Ike and Helen Ingram in Greenville TX. She attended Savanna High School where she met the love of her life, Marcus K. Barnett of Chambers. They married and embarked on their life long adventure full of love, laughter, service and music. Beverly and Marcus had three children, fulfilling a life long dream, "to be a loving wife and mother." Beverly was a gifted and talented woman, with a love of God and service to others, touching the lives of everyone she met with love and kindness. Beverly and Marcus spent their life in ministry with the United Methodist Church. Through thick and thin, in all seasons, always together. Beverly was preceded in death by husband, Marcus K. Barnett, parents, Ike and Helen Ingram; brother, Jack Ingram and youngest son, Mark S. Barnett. She will be missed by all, especially her daughter Pamela J. Barnett-Bolt and husband Tom Bolt, granddaughters Laura and Audrey Bolt. Her son, Marcus K Barnett, Jr and wife Tammy Barnett, granddaughters Niki Hayes, Montanna Barnett and Kayla Bliss, and grandson Lane Barnett, daughter-in-law, Linda Barnett and granddaughters Taylor Lashley and Brenden Cook. As well as five great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a life long family of God. Memorial contributions may be made to the Barnett-Widener Ministerial Endowed Scholarship at Oklahoma City University, in lieu of flowers or plants. In keeping with Beverly's wishes, there will be a graveside service on Monday, August 18, 10:00 a.m. at the Chambers Cemetery. The family would like to say a word of appreciation for all the funeral service being provided by the Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home and the First United Methodist Church of McAlester, with Rev. Dr. Stephen T. Hale officiating. A special thank you to Debbie Logan, her and our mom were like peas and carrots, a perfect mix.
