Vester Edth Breedlove, 89, of Eufaula, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Eastgate Village Retirement Center in Muskogee. Vester was born on May 6, 1925, in Lamar, Arkansas, the son of William Taylor and Gracie Rebecca (Smith) Breedlove. He attended school at Artussee. Vester enlisted in the United States Army on July 29, 1943 and served during World War II. While serving in the Army, Vester received the Good Conduct Medal, the European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the American Campaign Medal and the World war II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on December 7, 1945 at Camp Bowie, Texas. On July 6, 1945, Vester married Juanita Blevins in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2001. Vester worked in the grocery distribution industry. He also worked as a rancher. He was of the Pentecostal Faith. Survivors include: his son, Gary Breedlove and wife Lana of Muskogee; daughters, Kay Craig and husband Tom of Eufaula and Jenny Smith and husband Chris of Muskogee; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Vester is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, six brothers, one sister and two grandchildren, Crystal Gale and Madison Paige. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015 in the Kelley Memorial Chapel with Buddy Powell officiating. Pallbearers will be Greg Smith, Stephen Thomas, Jeff Breedlove, Cliint Breedlove, Michael Breedlove and Ryan Coby Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Knight, Chris Smith and Tom Craig. Burial will follow at the Bower Cemetery under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.
