Winnie Sue Daniels, 82 of McAlester went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday November 12, 2023 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday November 13, 2023 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Pastor Tim Whisenhunt. Burial will follow at Blue Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Wesley Overmon, David Herrin, Hank Daniels, Shar Williams, Chasity Woodall and Felix Rodriguez. Winnie Sue was born to Phillip Engle and Mildred Muriel (McManus) Daniels on November 13, 1940 in Crowder. She was raised in Indianola and attended Indianola School. Winnie married Edgar Leon Daniels in McAlester on October 22, 1957. Together they raised their family in McAlester. Winnie was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed music and loved to play the guitar. Winnie was of the Christian Faith. She was an avid bible reader and thrived on engaging discussions with family and friends on biblical topics. Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip E. and Muriel Daniels; husband, Edgar Leon Daniels in 1997; son, Phillip Daniels; daughter-in-law, Deanna Daniels; granddaughter, Lori Ann Daniels; an infant brother, Jerry Phillip Daniels; brother, Henry Daniels; and a sister, Katie Daniels Roth. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Don Daniels, David Clay Daniels both of McAlester; daughter, Davina Sue Daniels and husband, Wesley Overmon of Sallisaw; grandchildren, Audra Daniels, Leslie McMurtrey; great grandchildren, Natalie Jordan, Elisha Jordan, Chloe Jordan, Allison Nail, Brighton McMurtrey, Miriam McMurtrey, Llewyn McMurtrey; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to Katrina Cottrell for her selfless acts of caring, comforting, compassionate and dedicated care that was given to not only Winnie, but also Davina. Also, a special thanks to all of the Northeastern Health System Sequoyah hospice and hospital staff. Your love and support are truly appreciated.
