Shirley Ellen Blevins, 80, of McAlester, died on Friday, May 3, 2019 at her home. Family will receive friends on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with Rev. Paul Snow officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Cemetery. Shirley was born on February 25, 1939 in McAlester to Bert and Mary (Marco) Lawson. She grew up in McAlester and was married to Lloyd F. Blevins for 50 years. She attended Blue School and worked at the Van Buren House for many years. She enjoyed cooking and caring for others. She loved her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed spending time and giving to her family. She was a member of the Blue Holiness Church. Survivors include her children and spouses, Ronnie and Debbie Lawson, Mike and Rhonda Blevins, Donna Blevins, Brenda and Paul Gillispie, Rhonda and Greg Beshear, Greg and Leslie Blevins and Kathy Falkenstein; 27 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Nora Stacey and Marie Moore; numerous nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Debbie Logan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd F. Blevins; parents, Bert and Mary (Marco) Lawson; 2 brothers, Junior Lawson and Jimmy Lawson; 1 sister, Francis Cripps; 1 step-son, Gary Blevins and a granddaughter, Lani Romine. Active pallbearers will be Arthur Shropshire, Benny Mauldin, Sonny Blevins, Kendall Steele, Donnie Lawson, Denny Emery and Shannon Stacey. Honorary pallbearers are Dewey Gather, Cody Mauldin, William Lewis and Rowdy Givens.
