Dorothy L. (Bradley) Arnold
October 24, 1933 ~ August 27, 2014

Dorothy L. Arnold, 80, of McAlester, died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at her home. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 1 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2 at McAlester Church of the Nazarene, 700 W. Adams, with Rev. J.T. Carnell officiating. Interment will be at Blue Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Born to Wiley Tom Bradley and Molly Gladys (Archer) Bradley at Pyle Mountain, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, Dorothy attended school at Blue and Mitchell and high school at McAlester. She married Carl Johnson in 1953. She had worked at Seamprufe and then as a cook for McAlester Schools and McAlester Hospital. Dorothy loved to garden flowers and sew. She was an active member of McAlester Church of The Nazarene, cooking and assisting with church events. She is survived by her son: Brian Keith Johnson and Gwen Close of Ringwood; daughter: Peggy Arnold and husband, Mike of Grass Valley, California; step-sons: Bobby Arnold and wife, Angie of Bushland, Texas, Norvel Arnold and wife, Jennie of Amarillo, Texas. Also, brothers: Robert Bradley and wife, Pansey of Caballo, New Mexico, Thomas Bradley of Indianola; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Wiley Tom and Molly Bradley; her first husband, Carl Johnson, husband, Robert Grant and husband, Dean Arnold and a sister, Beatrice Edmond. Pallbearers will be Stan McMullen, Ron Holloway, Curt Schock, Brett Schock, Billiy York, and Garry Bishoff. Honorary pallbearers will be Dianne Carnell, Janice Clagg, Barbara Hayes, Burlene Wilson, Imogene Petete, Karen Montross, and Everett Christian.
