Georgia Ann Hearod, 80, of McAlester, passed away Thursday, Sept. 23, at her home. The family will welcome friends for visitation at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, Sept. 27, at 10:00 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chip Lott officiating. Burial will follow at Arpelar Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sammy McClendon, Frankie McClendon, Eddie Sanders, Billy Lynn McClendon, Carter Hearod, Ethan Hearod and Bobby Hearod. Georgia Ann Hearod was born on March 11, 1941 in McAlester to Edgar Lloyd McClendon and Lorene Arkansas (Brewster) McClendon. She grew up in Arpelar and graduated from Haywood School in 1959. Soon after, she married Bobby Hearod on May 22, 1959 and they made their home in McAlester since then. Georgia started her cleaning business, Ideal Cleaning, over 30 years ago and worked until recently when her health forced her to retire. She was an active and devoted member of the Calvary Baptist Church. When she could, she loved going to Branson each year with her group of lady friends. She also, along with her husband, Bobby, loved to attend sporting events anytime they could, anywhere in the county. They were both big sports fans. Georgia is survived by her son, Darrell Hearod; grandchildren, Chris Hearod and wife Jakeya, Derek Hearod, and Devon Hearod; great grandchildren, Regan Hearod, Ethan Hearod, Kel Hearod and Carter Hearod; a brother, Simp McClendon and wife Carol; a sister, Jo Sanders and husband Freddie; a sister-in-law, Anita McClendon; and a daughter-in-law, Tina Hearod. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby; a son, Mike Hearod; a brother, Billy McClendon; a sister, Frances Jones and her husband Buck Jones.
