Arlene Ann Babb, 87, died on April 6, 2010 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on June 6, 1922 in Newlin, Texas to Hoyt O. and Maudie Cypert. She married Hoyt E. Walkup, who later preceded her in death. She then married Russell L. Babb on January 14, 1989.

Arlene was a beloved wife and mother. She was a member of the Church of Christ and Beta Sigma Phi. She and Hoyt were instrumental in organizing the Oklahoma and International Fly Farmers. She, herself, was a pilot. She was a member of the Woman's Flying Organization of the 99ers and was Duchess of the Flying Farmers.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her first husband, Hoyt, and her son Terry Walkup.

She is survived by her husband, Russell Babb, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; sons, John Walkup and Jerry Walkup; daughter-in-laws, Diana Walkup, Linda Walkup, and Lisa Walkup; stepdaughter, Connie Merlis; grandchildren, Sean Walkup, Angela Armstrong, Eric Walkup, Jennifer Huehns, and Rebecca Klein, and Terah Walkup; great-grandchildren, Alex Jensen, Ashley Jensen, Emma Armstrong, Evie Walkup, Ember Walkup, Emily Huehns, Allison Huehns, and Courtney Klein; and sisters, Colleen Zetmeir and Bunny Chambers. Pallbearers will be Sean Walkup, Eric Walkup, Floyd Chambers, Jerry Walkup, John Walkup, Bob Bickel, Ken Flaming, and Kent Chambers.
