Ina Mae [Taylor] Vogt

Ina Mae Taylor Vogt, age 72 of Perkins, Oklahoma passed away from this life into God's hands on Friday, March 27, 2015. Over the last few years she suffered from declining health due to strokes and a weak heart. However, she had a strong spirit and continued giving to others freely and without complaint.

Family viewing and visiting will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 31st at Strode Funeral Home, Stillwater. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6500 S Perkins Rd, Stillwater, OK. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ina was born on January 12, 1943 in Prairie Grove, AR to William Edward Taylor and Dovie Roenia Hodge.

She spent her formative years in Prairie Grove, graduating high school in 1961. While in school, she became life-long friends and fellow healer with Linnia Doyle, currently residing in Talihina, Oklahoma. A long-time member of the Church of Christ, she married Bobby Allen Vogt on June 11, 1967 in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Ina's passion was caring for those who could not care for themselves. For more than 40 years, Ina provided aid and comfort for special needs patients in their homes. Relentless in her dedication, she would often put their needs above her own. Indeed, her patients became members of her extended family.

Ina also loved to bake, make quilts, sew and participate in church activities. Many of her quilts were made for her children and grandchildren where they are fondly kept and remembered. Yet, nothing was as important to her as the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whom she shared stories and helped nurture. As a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Perkins Civil Defense Auxiliary, Ina provided food and assistance whenever the need presented itself.

She was predeceased by her husband, father, mother, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Bowman of Knoxville, TN. In addition, her dog Mimi who became her constant companion following Bob's death, survives.
